My Experience

Marilyn Roy has been doing event planning for over 25 years for a large national corporation, and recently has begun offering her years of experience to the corporate community independently. Having done countless meetings, conferences and other special events for the most senior and discerning executives,  she has a unique knowledge and understanding not only of the events themselves, but the level of professionalism that corporate executives expect.

Whether your conference is within Canada or outside of Canada, Marilyn's experience includes the entire scope of work from tendering for locations to executing several out of country conferences in several locations including Mexico, Jamaica or on a cruise ship afloat in the Caribbean.  

Marilyn has organized conferences, business meetings, dinners and celebrations across Canada. Groups as small as 20 for private offsite planning sessions to events as large as 1500. Celebratory events with various levels of government and the heads of multi-national corporations can be complicated with the observance of many protocols but Marilyn is experienced in these areas and is here to take these issues off your hands, and work through it for you.

For several years Marilyn was the event manager for a large charity event hosted in Halifax with participation from national and international companies. When she took over the event approximately 9 years ago, she grew it from struggling to host 300 guests to nearly tripling the attendance and participation. It is now a thriving and well recognized charity for the children’s hospitals in Atlantic Canada.

Versatility and Valuable Relationships

From golf tournaments to employee fun days, formal dinners, to scavenger hunts she have done all these types of events. Each event is unique on its own, but all events have a common thread... details. Paying attention, organization, and executing even the smallest detail will go a long way to making your event a success.  

Marilyn has worked for many years with most of the major venues not only in Atlantic Canada, but across the Country.  She has built up a strong relationship with these locations and also has extensive knowledge of excellent small, unique venues that would serve your needs for an executive offsite, or team building event.

Whether it’s a weather issue, a guest speaker that doesn’t show, or even a medical emergency, an event planner must be prepared to act quickly and effectively, while keeping the disruption to the delegates to a minimum. Having the ability to handle damage control with calm and effective solutions is as important, and often times more important than having the ability to plan it in the first place.

Choosing and working with the Audio Visual supplier; caterers;  menus and locations for various events within main event, organizing offsite tours or team building, pre-event materials, registrations, all this will be handled with the utmost care and attention by Marilyn.
